Let's begin this topic by a simple question that, are links the same as each other when they are being added to the websites? In other words, do you believe that any link established will be great and search engines will count it and so the respective websites the links point at will be benefiting from the links powers and juices created? Well, this really is a question requiring details and long answers.
You know, the matter is not a simple one because if it was, people wouldn't have any problems in having their websites reaching the top search engines positions but we do see in reality that the discussion of links and the way they can have effects on rankings and placements on the web does continue to be a mysterious one and many other factors and items can have roles to play.
In fact, although links are very helpful for websites rankings in the search engines but without any doubts you cannot call all of the links established, merely great ones and the right votes that will lead to websites popularity on the web. Such terms as authority websites and one way links have been created and discussed among webmasters because the core of the matter needs analysis.
Please note that there is nothing wrong continuing working on your websites optimization efforts such as adding to the number of links pointing at your web pages but it is recommended to analyze each and every single link you are about create in the future. As it's been seen by real experiences, sometimes adding many links that are not of high quality cannot be beneficial to websites.
Now, does this point contradict with the general rule of having links for being successful online? Absolutely not but it can also be mentioned that having merely thousands of links by itself is no guarantee for seeing a certain website being listed among the top ten Google ranking websites. The point is that although links are always welcome, but if they are authority ones, the better.
This is something which has been written about on so many of the online discussion boards and in the related books. Some links are very powerful and so can push a website's rankings upward in the search engines while at some other points, even after creating hundreds of new links, you might not observe any major and surprise rises in your sites rankings and placements on the web.
Some guidelines have been proposed by the professional webmasters and the companies involved in search engine optimization which are very helpful in making the matter of authority links clear. For example, the links placed on the homepages and especially at the top parts of them are better and more useful than the ones being on the inner pages and placed at the footer sections.
Also, please do not forget the matter of relevancy of the links established. For example, if your website is about cars, and a link is added to your homepage from another website that is also about the auto industries, so such a link can be very helpful with the rankings of your website online and in all of the search engines because the more relevant websites, the more powerful the links are.
Other factors are also important in recognizing the authority links and websites. For example, if a link has been added to your website from a famous and leading organization online portal or say from a university web page, such links are very helpful to your site's rankings on the web because the links sources are regarded as authority and very reliable online resources in the search engines.
